the NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Mission

The mission of the NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center (HOC) is to enable and empower individuals and families to successfully purchase and retain homes by providing education, counseling, and lending services; and to advocate for all individuals and families throughout the experience of owning a home, regardless of age, race, economic status, or other defining characteristics.

Full Cycle Lending

CEDC's HOC offers NeighborWorks Full-Cycle Lending, which includes more than just lending. Lower-income buyers are supported throughout the homeownership process beginning with home buyer education, counseling, down payment assistance and consulting for first-time buyers. And if a mortgage distress situation should arise, additional counseling is provided for troubled borrowers struggling to remain in their home.

NeighborWorks Full-Cycle Lending is a system that enables local partners, including lenders, insurers, construction specialists, government agencies, and nonprofit NeighborWorks® organizations to work together in providing homeownership opportunities for families who might not qualify for – or know how to obtain – conventional mortgages.
